They were Catherine and Catherine, a fashion buyer and an NHS doctor. Firm friends and founders of the Truthbrush.
They believe in complete transparency, honesty and openness. And always trying their best to do things the right way.
They created the Truthbrush to combine sustainable bamboo brushes with beautiful design.
And they don’t take any shortcuts to get there.
Back in 2017, they were given a plastic toothbrush at a hotel . It was flimsy. Made to be used and disposed of. And it got them thinking. They realised this one brush would only last a few weeks before being thrown away to join the mountain of plastic pollution out there.
And just like that, they realised there must be a better way to brush.
They both dedicated to living a more considered and sustainable life, but they firmly believe that for new habits to stick they must feel good – we all want beautiful things and they can be sustainable too.
Here at Truthbrush, they are an all-woman team, who understand the demands of family life and embrace all that brings to our business. They believe business can be done on a human scale. It’s kinder that way. It keeps us focused, efficient and aware that we need to do better for our children.
They don’t opt for easy. They don't take shortcuts. They believe in quietly disrupting the oral care industry through ethical innovation. They are always truthful about the journey they are on and as technology improves so do they.
Most importantly we love being part of the change towards a better way of living that’s gentler on our planet. And we believe that brushing with beautiful bamboo is one positive step towards cleaner teeth for a cleaner world…

The Truthbrush came from a wish for a toothbrush that was beautiful and luxurious as well as biodegradable.
Their unique handle design is crafted from sustainably sourced, organic bamboo which is naturally antibacterial.
The brushes come with soft (as recommended by dentists) or medium bristles, which are 62% castor oil based to care for your teeth and gums. Each brush is also finished with a coat of plant oil to make it beautifully smooth and hard wearing.
Each Truthbrush is hand wrapped in tissue paper and a recyclable cardboard pillow pack. Shipping to us and from us to you, is carbon neutral to minimise environmental impact. Truthbrush is cruelty free and vegan.
